Samsung Electronics makes a line of Android-and Windows-based tablet computers called the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab, the initial model in the series, was unveiled to the public on September 2, 2010, at the IFA in Berlin, and went on sale on November 5, 2010. Subsequently, a number of other models have been launched, including those with 7.7, 8.9, and 10.1-inch displays. All of the tablet’s Wi-Fi models come with a GPS system, and the 3G/4G/5G models include cellular functionality.
The first line of Samsung tablets were part of the Galaxy Tab series. The Galaxy Tab S series for high-end tablets, the Galaxy Tab A series for mid-range tablets, and the Galaxy Tab E series for entry-level tablets were eventually divided into three distinct lines. Three high-end tablets running the Android operating system made up the first generation of Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro devices, which were unveiled in 2014. The Galaxy Tab S series would succeed these tablets. Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S in 2016, a new model in the Tab Pro range that ran Windows 10 rather than Android. The Samsung Galaxy Book replaced it the next year.
